County to collect household hazardous waste in NSB on Nov. 14
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Volusia County’s Solid Waste Division is hosting a household hazardous waste collection event for materials such as paint, used oils, pesticides, fluorescent lamps, car batteries and cleaning chemicals.
These materials could contaminate ground water if disposed of improperly or pose a threat to the owner if kept too long.
County residents may drop off household hazardous wastes without charge at the New Smyrna Beach Public Works Department, 124 W. Industrial Park, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14.
