OAK HILL -- The recent rainfall has prompted Volusia County officials to lift the outdoor burn ban for the cities of Oak Hill, Lake Helen and Pierson, as well as areas in unincorporated Volusia County, fire officials announced.
CASSADAGA -- The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that targeted four people from out of town who said they were sightseeing in Cassadaga.
While taking pictures near a historic sign, a car suddenly pulled over and two men and one woman got out and
confronted the visitors. The two men pointed guns at the victims and demanded their possessions. They then got back in their car and sped away. No shot were fired and no one was injured.

A full week before the national holiday, the 29-year-old Edgewater man enlisted the help of his employer, Chases on the Beach and several other restaurants, as well as a cavalcade of volunteer cooks and servers, including New Smyrna Beach firefighters. Ignasiak's efforts led to the feeding of 500 people at the Brannon Center. He even got a mop and led the clean-up afterwards as shown above.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The bodies of two bottlenose dolphins washed ashore Wednesday morning in the vicinity of the 27th Avenue ramp, marine officials said.

EDGEWATER -- A 28-year-old Edgewater woman was pistol-whipped and robbed of her purse with $300 in cash and her cell phone, after accepting a ride from people she knew, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
