Edgewater assesses damage from 'no-name' storm

Here is the latest weather forecast for Greater New Smyrna Beach from the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

EDGEWATER -- City officials reported one serious motor vehicle accident from Sunday's "no name storm" as some Orlando TV meteorologists have dubbed the low pressure system that dumped several inches of rain and brought wind gusts of up to 60 mph in some Volusia County coastal communities.

Throughout the day Sunday and into the morning hours of Columbus Day, there were sporadic power outages in small pockets throughout Edgewater, Fire Services spokeswoman Capt. Jill Danigel told NSBNews.net.

Two city lift stations were being run with generator power, 323 South Riverside Drive and 4409 Maple St. in Terra Mar Village, early Monday she said.
