DAYTONA BEACH -- Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport increased 14 percent in November compared with the same month last year, according to VolusiaCounty officials.

During November 37,402 incoming and outgoing passengers traveled through Daytona Beach International Airport. This compares with 32,853 travelers recorded in November last year.

DAYTONA BEACH -- In what Daytona Beach police are describing as a  drug deal gone bad, a 25-year-old city man was found shot to death in his car Friday night, having crashed into a pole after being shot two blocks away on Magnolia Avenue.

The gunman turned himself in and was charged with felony drug offenses, but police did not charge him in the homicide while their investigation continues.because he may have been defending himself.

Responding cops found LeKeefe D. Lee slumped in his car, having suffered a gunshot wound to the to the right side of his body below the armpit, apparently crashing the vehicle after being shot. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene inside the car.

DeLand man charged in murder of missing Port Orange woman found dead in car

DELAND -- The Volusia County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the death of missing Port Orange woman Danielle Santangelo. Willie Hicks, 32, of DeLand, a convicted drug felon, was arrested late Wednesday night and charged with first-degree murder.

The 34-year-old woman was reported missing to the Port Orange Police Department Monday. Through their investigation, Port Orange investigators discovered the car Santangelo was last seen with -- a red 2007 Chrysler Sebring -- in a wooded area off of Darchelle Court and Cherry Street just south of DeLand at about 3:50 p.m. Wednesday.

A body of a woman was found inside and was later identified as Santangelo by means of a tattoo and her driver license photo.

DAYTONA BEACH -- An 18-year-old Mainland High School football player was killed Saturday night after he lost control of his car on Nova Road while drag racing and flipped the vehicle which then crosse the median and collided with an oncoming vehicle, a police communications official confirmed early this morning.

Tevin Nathan Only, a senior and Daytona Beach resident, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 8:30 p.m. crash.

Edgewater man, 58, and 18-year-old Daytona Beach man arrested on unrelated warrants charging them with possession of online child porn

Thomas Rodosky, 58, of Edgewater, shown here on the far left, and Timothy Hubbell, 18, of Daytona Beach, are each charged with multiple counts of possession of online child pornography in unrelated cases. Rodosky was arrested Thursday and Hubbell, the day before.

EDGEWATER -- Volusia County Sheriff's sex crimes investigators armed with search warrants headed Thursday to the Edgewater home of 58-year-old Thomas Rodosky where they found numerous images of children engaged in sexual activity on a computer in his house, an agency spokesman said.
