SOUTH DAYTONA -- A homeless registered sex offender was arrested Wednesday after he offered to perform oral sex on a 17-year-old boy for $100 earlier in the week, South Daytona Beach police said.
Walter Leroy Hagaman was charged with procuring a person under 18 for prostitution and was being held without bail at the Volusia County Branch Jail early this morning.
The victim turned down the offer twice made by Hagaman and told his father when he came home. The father then called police.
The boy was able to identify Hagaman from the state's registered sex offender page and even though Hagaman denied the allegations, the boy's description of him was strong, police said.
According to the police report, the two crossed paths at 9 p.m. Monday at the intersection of South Ridgewood and Slayton avenues when Hagaman pulled over his vehicle and initially asked for directions, before offering to perform oral sex on him and to buy his sperm.
