Volusia community assistance staff to provide grant information, seek input at public meetings, including NSB

DELAND Volusia County’s Community Assistance Division will provide information about the Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships and Emergency Shelter Grant programs at three community meetings, including one in New Smyrna Beach at the Babe James Center.

The meetings will be at:

* 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 7, at the Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St.
* 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at the DeLand Area Public Library, 130 E. Howry Ave.
* 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at the Babe James Center, 201 N. Myrtle Ave., New Smyrna Beach

Staff will explain the status of the grant programs and discuss current funding levels and proposed activities for the 2010/2011 program year. Residents are encouraged to attend and provide input about housing and community development needs.

Information gathered at the meetings will be used in developing the Community Assistance Division’s 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan and 2010-2011 Annual Action Plan.
