DAYTONA BEACH – Officials at Daytona International Speedway said they are confident enough of the preliminary work has been completed in the mammoth renovation and upgrade of the word-famous track that it will be "race ready" for the fans and their love of restrictor-plate racing in the Daytona 500.

ORLANDO -- In celebration of the Magic's 25th anniversary season, the team will don the original signature-black, pin-striped jersey with throwback team logos worn through the 1989-94 seasons, starting with tonight's matchup with the Miami Heat.

ORLANDO -- The Orlando Magic have little hope of winning more than a third of the games on their 82-game schedule, if the opening night game loss on the road Tuesday night against the Indiana Pacers, 97-87, is any indication.

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, SC – The Stetson men’s golf team got off to a fair start in its first event of the 2013-14 season, but struggled over the next two days at the GolfWeek Program Challenge.

The Hatters opened with a 298 in the first round, but followed up with consecutive rounds of 309 on Monday and 308 on Tuesday to finish last in the 12-team event at the True Blue Course.

It is the second straight year the Hatters have finished 12th in the event.

PHOENIX, Md. – Bethune-Cookman junior women’s golfer Jennifer Hide shot a 4-over 148 in collecting a runner-up finish for the Daytona campus at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational on Monday, hosted by Towson University at the Towson Golf & Country Club in Phoenix, Md.

As a team, Bethune-Cookman finished third in the field with scores of 314 and 311 for the tournament. The total for Bethune-Cookman equaled +49, 625 throughout the par-72 course (6,139 yards).

B-CU Director of Golf Loritz “Scooter” Clark was happy with the results from the season-opening tournament, especially considering B-CU was the only team fielding just four individuals into the scoring.

The Tip-off is 7 p.m. for the Wednesday game.  This marks the third time that the Orlando Magic have played a preseason game in Jacksonville, with their last trip coming in 2008.
