Little Theatre of New Smyrna Beach to hold three summer camps

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The Little Theatre of New Smyrna Beach will host three WonderLand Summer Camps.

# A summer camp for 8 to 14 year olds from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The camp will begin on June 10, and run for two weeks, ending on June 21. The cost of the camp is $240. It features "The Hobbit Adventure," a play by Edward Mast, adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien's novel, a suspenseful, fast-moving journey through the sometimes dark, sometimes charming, always compelling world of Middle Earth.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- County Chair Jason Davis is 51 years old today and that's no April Fool's joke.

"Yes, I was born on April 1, 1962," Davis said over the weekend with a laugh. "I'll be 51 on April 1, no fooling."

Another thing that's far from a joke to Davis, a Bronze Star recipient for his tours of duty in the Iraq, is the verbal abuse a New Smyrna Beach cop took from that city's mayor before the start of the municipal Christmas parade.
