Lions Club holding barbecue dinner Saturday for $7

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- The New Smyrna Beach Lions Club is holding a barbecue dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lions clubhouse, 2340 Sunset Drive, just north of the football stadium. For only $7 a person, visitors can enjoy a special Maryland recipe one half-chicken with baked beans, coleslaw and a roll. Eat in or take out, with beverages available.

"Your participation helps the Lions Club to provide our community service activities, including eye exams, eye glasses, refurbished hearing aids for any person that qualifies financially," Lions member T.C. Wilder said. "We also give a scholarship annually to a graduating high school senior."

The New Smyrna Beach Lions Club BBQ dinner is a semi-annual event that the Lions have to raise funds for their community service fund. The money from this fund also assists the Handicapped Children's Camp in Lake Wales and other miscellaneous charity events.
