Orange City motorist killed in I-4 crash near Lake Helen

LAKE HELEN -- A 42-year old Orange City man is dead following a crash Sunday night on Interstate 4, about five miles east of Lake Helen, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

John Falcon, 42, was westbound on the four in his 2008 Chevrolet pick-up truck when he darted to the right and traveled onto the emergency lane, before sliding sideways on the grassy shoulder. The vehicle continued into the tree line where the driver'ss side struck a tree, spun out, and came to rest in the woods facing west.

The victim was wearing his seat belt and shoulder harness at the time of the crash, the FHP said.
