NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Still photos from a surveillance video from Sunday' nights armed robbery at the Kangaroo Express Mart, 2600 N. Dixie Frwy., were released Wednesday to the media in hopes that someone will turn in the armed robber.
The gunman is described as white, 20-30 years of age, between 5 feet 10 and 6 feet 1, weighing 140 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, sunglasses, and a baseball cap.
Here is a synopsis of what happened as described in a police report: The suspect entered the convenience store at 8:55 p.m. and pointed a revolver at the clerk. The suspect then demanded all of the money from the cash register. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and exited the store. The suspect fled west on foot toward Conrad Drive. Volusia County Sheriff’s Office K-9 units responded and conducted a search for the suspect. However, a search of the area to apprehend the suspect was unsuccessful.
