Memorial service for George Richard Snedegar, age 75, of New Smyrna Beach, who died Saturday at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Care Center, Edgewater, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Grace Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, Oak Hill, with Pastor John F. Hay, officiating.
Born in Washington, D.C., George lived in the Detroit area for much of his life, moving to New Smyrna in 1983. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1963, working as an airplane engine mechanic. George retired from General Motors Cadillac plant after 30 years. He loved working on, talking about, and traveling the country by cars. He also enjoyed riding his Honda motorcycle. George was a former bowler, a member of the NRA, the UAW, and Grace Fellowship Nazarene Church.
He loved his family and friends and is survived by his wife of 22 years, Crystal; his mother, Dorothy Snedegar of Garden City, MI; 2 daughters, Sheila Linssens (Sean) of Edgewater, April Bloyen (Chris) of Port Orange;2 step children, Les Rodabaugh (Raney) of Lafayette, IN, Tanya Rodabaugh of Edgewater; 2 brothers, Freddie of Westland, MI, Kenneth of Woodhaven, MI; 2 sisters, Nancy Davidson of Sun City, AZ, Joan Ross of Garden City, MI; 7 grandchildren, Devon, Summer, Tiffany, Bryanna, Kaylee, Morgan and Amanda. George was preceded in death by his father, Fred.
