DELAND -- Computer knowledge is just a click away at the DeLand Area Public Library. Check out
the free computer classes available in October.
Basic computers will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4; and 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6. This is a one-hour introduction for people with little or no computer experience.
Basic Internet will be offered at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13; and 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18. Attendees will learn about the Internet, become familiar with terminology, and acquire basic skills to access and navigate web sites.
Library website and databases begins at 10:30 a.m. Monday Oct. 25; and 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27. Participants will learn how to navigate Surfcat and use eResources.
Classes in November and December will address resume creation and job searches, introduction to e-mail, intermediate Internet search strategies, and social networking.
