Dr. Bill Epps, age 83, of New Smyrna Beach, died Sunday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange. Born in Sanford, Dr. Epps was a graduate of Georgia Military Academy, Stetson University, and Emory University Dental School. He practiced dentistry in both Sanford and Edgewater.
A Navy Veteran of World War II, Dr. Epps was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a former member of the Sanford Rotary Club and the Mayfair Country Club of Sanford.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joan, a son, Steven William Epps, a daughter, Laraine Horster, and 3 grandchildren, Alicia Blankenship, Robert P. Horster III, and Cory Alexander Horster, all of New Smyrna Beach.
His memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, at the Settle-Wilder New Smyrna Beach chapel, with Father Deke Miller, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Thursday.
