DELAND -- Dr. Roberta Favis, professor of art history and curator of the Vera Bluemner Kouba Collection at Stetson University, will present a gallery talk Thursday, Nov. 11, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in the Homer and Dolly Hand Art Center, 139 E. Michigan Ave., DeLand. The talk is free and open to the public.
Favis will discuss the current Oscar Bluemner exhibition, which features black-and-white studies created by Bluemner from 1930-1933. The exhibition, "Oscar Bluemner: 'The Vermillionaire' in Black and White"
continues in the Hand Art Center through Friday, Dec. 3.
Regular Hand Art Center hours are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Hand Art Center will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 24, through Sunday, Nov. 28, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
