Videos by Multimedia Editor Sera Frederick. NSBNEWS.net endorses Joe Horrox and Dennis Craig for circuit judge, group 5, and doesn't give either an edge.

Attorneys Joe Horrox and Dennis Craig are equally deserving of the seat 5 circuit judgeship in Flagler County and so we're leaving it as a "pick 'em."

To use legal cliches, the scales of justice are balanced. You can't go wrong with either one. Both are strong in their knowledge of the law, both are trial lawyers, Horrox in private practice and Craig with the state attorney's office. They are both intelligent, educated and possess the right temperament for the patience and strength that is demanding of the bench.

Horrox's experience is strong in civil litigation while Craig's is in criminal. The judgeship currently carries a civil docket, but those assignments are always subject to change by the circuit's chief judge.
The position has come open through the year-end retirement of longtime Circuit Judge Kim C. Hammond.

Though the seat is based in Bunnell and serves primarily the people of Flagler County, all registered voters are eligible to vote in this rce because the 7th judicial circuit comprises the counties of Volusia, Putnam, St Johns and the previously mentioned Flagler.

We encourage you to watch our videos of both candidates and review their respective campaign websites. Whichever candidate finishes second in the upcoming election is well deserving of a future gubernatorial appointment should a vacancy in the circuit occur between election cycles.

We're certain neither candidate will be jumping for joy at our recommendation, but then again they're famillar with deadlocked juries.

P.S.: If anyone is wondering why we placed Horrox first, its because of the left and right positioning of their faces on the video.

NSBNEWS.net endorses Joseph Horrox and Dennis Craig for circuit judge seat 5, with the understanding that only one of them can be elected in Tuesday's general elections.

The videos in the endorsements are direct appeals from the candidates to you from the 2010 NSB Hob Nob held Oct. 25, at the Brannon Center. As we go through each race, we will post the video of the candidate we feel best represents the needs of the public. NSBNEWS.net is the only Volusia County-based media outlet to hand out endorsements for the general elections. The Orange County-based Orlando Sentinel has done so as well. Our endorsements resulted from collaboration and debate between NSB News LLC's publishers, Henry Frederick, a registered Democrat, and Peter Mallory, a registered Republican, for posting on NSBNEWS.net and our new countywide website VolusiaNews.net.
