Let's cut to the chase: Don Holmes is the best candidate for the seat 10 circuit judgeship in Putnam County.

Holmes is well versed in the law, experienced and possesses the right temperament.

While opponent Scott Dupont has knowledge of the law, he lacks the maturity and temperament to sit in judgment of those who come before him as demonstrated by his negative campaigning, especially in the primary.

Holmes was the overwhelming victor in the primary and might have won it outright and thus avoiding this runoff had there not been a third candidate, Eric Neitzke, who had a respectable showing.

The judgeship is based in Palatka, the county seat in Palatka, as part of the 7th judicial circuit, comprised of the aforementioned Putnam, Flagler, St. Johns and Volusia Counties. Registered voters in all four counties are eligible to vote in this race.

NSBNEWS.net strongly recommends Don Holmes for non-partisan circuit judge, seat 10, in Tuesday's general election.

The videos in the endorsements are direct appeals from the candidates to you from the 2010 NSB Hob Nob held Oct. 25, at the Brannon Center. As we go through each race, we will post the video of the candidate we feel best represents the needs of the public. NSBNEWS.net is the only Volusia County-based media outlet to hand out endorsements for the general elections. The Orange County-based Orlando Sentinel has done so as well. Our endorsements resulted from collaboration and debate between NSB News LLC's publishers, Henry Frederick, a registered Democrat, and Peter Mallory, a registered Republican, for posting on NSBNEWS.net and our new countywide website VolusiaNews.net.
