South Daytona Fire Chief Tad Derr expands his emergency services experience with two new appointments.

SOUTH DAYTONA -- On January 1, South Daytona Fire Chief Tad Derr will assume the role of president of the Volusia County Fire Chiefs’ Association. In addition, he was recently appointed vice chair of Daytona State College Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board.

Derr said he is honored to to be in leadership positions that provide essential public services.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues in continuing to maintain the excellent level of fire and emergency services residents expect in Volusia County,” Derr said.

A city employee since 1988, Derr most recently served as 2010 vice president of the VCFCA which consists of 14 member departments, associate members and partners.

The association’s stated mission is to “develop and promote the most efficient and effective fire, rescue and emergency medical delivery system possible throughout Volusia County.”
