37th RPM Promoters workshops to arrive in Daytona Beach Feb. 8-10

DAYTONA BEACH -- The 37th Annual RPM Promoters Workshops will be at the Daytona Beach Hilton Oceanfront Resort Feb. 8-10.

This annual event, which spent 30 of its 36 previous years in Daytona Beach, has relocated from its five-year stint in Lake Mary.

Geared specifically toward race track operators, the RPM Promoters Workshops will feature a Feb.
8 keynote session with veteran track announcer Dave Moody, host of Sirius NASCAR Radio Channel 128 and the voice of Thunder Road International Speedbowl for 30 years. Also available will be a "Lunch and Laps" promoters' karting event at Daytona Lagoon Waterpark Feb. 8 and 9.

The approximately 600 attendees will be able to tap into 29 sessions, learn more than 250 "take-home" ideas, and shop 52 companies whose products and services are geared toward race promoters. Sessions will run Monday through Wednesday beginning at 9 a.m. daily.

"We're thrilled to be bringing the 37th RPM Promoters Workshops to Daytona Beach during Speedweeks 2010," said Stewart Doty, editor of Racing Promotion Monthly, a national trade newsletter for auto racing promoters. "Promoters and exhibitors have been coming to Daytona Beach during Speedweeks since the original beach races. They've really been looking forward to returning to Daytona Beach."

As a gesture of appreciation to the community of Daytona Beach, Doty's organization and promoters will make a donation to the United Way ofVolusia County.

"Promoters and RPM have a long tradition on Daytona," Doty explains, "and we're happy to support the community."
