HOLLY HILL -- A 31-year-old transient already jailed on unrelated charges was served with two warrants Thursday at the Volusia County Branch Jail accusing him of assaulting a woman with no arms in early December after she confronted him about some missing beer.

The warrants from Holly Hill police charge Derek Blizzard with dealing in stolen property and abuse of an elderly or disabled adult, in this case the latter of the second charge applies.

Holly Hill police Sgt. Joe Borelli said tonight he could not provide any further details on the nature of the alleged crimes except that one of his officers confirmed that a complaint was lodged against the accused in early December  which led to detectives obtaining warrants.

A bond of $2,500 was ordered for the charge of dealing in stolen property and another $3,500 was for the assault charge, but they are superseded by larger bonds for unrelated charges for which he was already being held.
