Ormond Beach police on the hunt for man who robbed bank this afternoon; surveillance photos of suspect released

ORMOND BEACH -- A man walked into the RBC Bank on East Granada Boulevard at 2:30 this afternoon and handed the teller demanding cash. The robber never showed or implied he had a gun and then fled after he was handed an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

He was last seen running west towards Vining Court. Ormond Beach Police units, assisted by Volusia County Sheriff’s Office patrol and helicopter and a K-9 unit from the Daytona Beach Police Department searched for the robber, but he was not found, Ormond Beach police spokesman Lt. Kenny Hayes said.

The robber is described as follows: white male vetween the ages of 20 and 40, 5 feet 4 to 5 feet 7, 150 to 175 pounds, with brown hair, and a clean-shaven face. He was dressed in black with a black hoodie. He was carrying a black backpack with white writing.
