HOLLY HILL -- A 30-year-old Magnolia Avenue man accused of sexually abusing three children in their Holly Hill home and while swimming in a neighbor's pool home, was arrested earlier today after police secured a warrant.

Although police investigators are not releasing details of Joshua Groves' association with the victims, they did say he was in a custodial position over the children -- ages 9, 11, and 12 -- during at least some of the assaults. The investigation determined that the crimes occurred at various times during the months of March, April, May and June, police said.

"The abuse came to light on June 22, 2011, after family members of the victims suspected that Groves had engaged in reoccurring sexual activity with the children, both in their Holly Hill home, and while swimming in a neighbor’s pool," Holly Hill Police Chief Mark Barker said of the felony charges against Groves.

Groves was arrested this afternoon by police Investigator Walter Melton at a home on Caribe Drive in Ormond Beach on felony warrants issued earlier in the day by Circuit Judge Frank Marriott. He is being held without bail at the Volusia County Branch Jail under a no-bond status, pending first appearance in court.
