NSBNews.net welcomes Vice Mayor Jim Hathaway as its newest blogger

Jim HathawayNSBNews.net is proud to announce that New Smyrna Beach Vice Mayor and City Commissioner Jim Hathaway has agreed to write an exclusive weekly blog for us. Hathaway replaces Mayor Adam Barringer who said he couldn't make the commitment anymore.

Hathaway's exclusive blog for NSBNews.net is called "Vice Mayor" and in it, he'll give his take on issues that he feels are important. Hathaway is an announced 2012 candidate for the Volusia County Council district 3 seat held by Joie Alexander, who opted not to seek re-election to that post. Alexander has not ruled out running in a different race.

Earlier this week, Ellen Darden, president of the New Smyrna Beach Board of Realtors announced she, too, is running for the district 3 seat that represents Southeast Volusia. Darden is an occasional blogger for NSBNews.net.

NSBNews.net is excited to have Hathaway's weekly perspective. In the interest of full disclosure, Hathaway has purchased campaign advertising with NSBNews.net. He had previously agreed to NSBNews.net's offer of a blog when the mayor said he couldn't commit to further blogs.

NSBNews.net also has a commitment for an exclusive weekly blog from Volusia County Council Chairman Frank Bruno, who is an announced candidate for retiring State Sen. Evelyn Lynn's seat in the 2012 elections. State Rep. Dorothy Hukill, is an announced Republican candidate for the post.

Hukill writes an exclusive blog for NSBNews.net called "Hukill's House." Bruno's as yet unnamed blog will premiere next weekend.

Again, NSBNews.net welcomes Jim Hathaway and his exclusive blog, which will be posted early Sunday.

NSBNews.net is the home for politics. Once again, we will be hosting a series of political debates for the 2012 elections and we will be endorsing candidates, which no other local media outlet has done in the last two election cycles.
