NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The weekly Edgewater Observer's hyped posting of a photo of Mayor Adam Barringer on its Facebook page regarding the tearing down of some dilapidated buildings drew ridicule from citizens who wrote to NSBNews.net and other public forums.
Robert Burns as shown at leftObserver Editor Robert Burns, known for his glad handing with elected officials and incessant shooting of photos at government meetings, portrayed Mayor Adam Barringer as "Rocky Balboa" with a photo of him shown with his clenched fists in the air.
Several days after extensive ribbing and ridicule from citizens writing into NSBNews.net and other public forums, Burns, who wrote a bragging posting with the photo op, removed it entirely from the Facebook page without an explanation. He did not return messages for comment.
