Little Theatre of New Smyrna Beach announces auditions for upcoming play, 'A Flea in Her Ear'

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The Little Theatre of New Smyrna Beach will hold auditions for the upcoming play, "A Flea in Her Ear," an adaptation of the Georges Feydeau farce by Frank Galati.

This explosively funny version of the classic farce has a series of mistaken identities, clandestine assignations and misplaced jealousies which happen at break-neck speed.

The comedy will be directed by Jeanna Carley. Auditions will be held at the theatre rehearsal hall, 726 Third Ave., at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 17, and 7 p.m. Monday, June 18. Copies of the script are available at the New Smyrna Beach Library.

Performances will be July 27, 28, 29 and August 3, 4 and 5. Characters: 10 men, 5 women (ages 20-70) Claude Deboshe: Victor Deboshe's nephew and secretary; Nanette: Victor Deboshe's maid; Perrier: Victor Deboshe's butler; Doctor Panche: Insurance company doctor and friend of Victor Lucille: Friend of Yvonne Deboshe; Yvonne Deboshe: Victor's wife; Victor Deboshe: Head of the Paris branch of an insurance company; Maurice Blasé: Friend of Victor's; Carlos: a Spanish gentleman; Babette: A maid at the Hotel Pussy a Go-Go; Henri Martinet: Manager of the hotel; Olympia: Martinet's wife; Benedictine: Martinet's uncle; Maher Ravvi: A guest at the hotel; Goshe: the hotel bellboy.
