Obama needs to deal with the terrorist killings in Libya

DEBARY -- Lately there has been the focus on the debate that Obama lost. But how quickly the president and the liberal media have moved on from the murder of Ambassador Chris Stephens and the other three Americans at the Libyan embassy in Benghazi.

Even though the attack was obviously the work of terrorism on the 11th anniversary of 9/11, Obama continues to describe the ant-Muslim video as “offensive” and told the UN jusyt that a few weeks ago.

What the president fails to mention, is the video has been out since July.President Obama described the video as "a crude and disgusting video sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world."

Obama went on to say, "Now, I have made it clear that the United States government had nothing to do with this video, and I believe its message must be rejected by all who respect our common humanity. It is an insult not only to Muslims, but to America as well.”

What I see is that the President is saying don’t blame us, let’s all be friends. The problem is that it does not work because the video is just a scapegoat to distract Americans from the real truth: That al-Qaeda is alive and intent on taking America out. If the president admits that, then he has to admit America is vulnerable and he has not done his job with respect to foreign policy.

Knowing there was a possible threat on 9/11 there should have been more defense for our Americans abroad that were left inadequately protected in the presence of a major threat.

At the UN, Obama's talked about how the attacks are against the ideals of the UN: “If we are serious about upholding these ideals, it will not be enough to put more guards in front of an embassy or to put out statements of regret and wait for the outrage to pass. If we are serious about these ideals, we must speak honestly about the deeper causes of the crisis, because we face a choice between the forces that would drive us apart and the hopes that we hold in common.”

There should have been more guards at the embassy and maybe Ambassador Stephens would still be alive to carry on the good work that he was praised for in the speech.  Obama's speech sounds like he wants group therapy to bring us all together and I do not see that happening any time soon.

One final note, the President mentioned “Like me, the majority of Americans are Christian, and yet we do not ban blasphemy against our most sacred beliefs.”

As Christians, some of us have heard of or seen the picture of the Andres Serrano’s “ Piss Christ” urine submerged cross on display in New York, but I do not hear the President call that “crude and disgusting.”

The president speaks up against an anti-Muslim movie, but when it comes to something that is anti-Christian, we do not hear a thing from him.
