Edgewater cops: 75-year-old resident struck and killed by hit-and-run driver

EDGEWATER -- Edgewater cops are looking for a hit-and-run motorist who struck and killed a 75-year-old person walking north in the 2300 block of South Ridgewood Avenue at 6:55 p.m. Monday.

The victim has been identified as Telvy M. Acosta, 75. "The suspect vehicle has damage to the front passenger side including the front passenger side headlight," police said in a press release.

Polie did not say if the victim was a man or a woman. When Heradline Surfer called Edgewater police through the Volusia County Sheriff's dispatch, the responding officer said he would not comment on what the police administration had provided in the press release.

Anyone with information about the driver of the vehicle is asked to call Edgewater police at 386-424-2000.
