Road improvements for South Ridgewood Avenue in Port Orange to be discussed May 2

PORT ORANGE -- The Florida Department of Transportation is holding a public information meeting from 7 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at the Port Orange Adult Activity Center, 4790 S. Ridgewood Ave., regarding plans to provide operational improvements along South Ridgewood Avenue, also known as U.S. 1.

This project provides maintenance and safety improvements to South Ridgewood Avenue, extending from south of Harbor Road to Fleming Avenue. In addition to resurfacing the existing pavement, this project includes adding continuous bicycle lanes and sidewalks. Existing on-street parking will be removed within the limits of this project. The project is funded for construction in the fall of 2014.
