DAYTONA BEACH -- As publisher of this 24/7 internet newspaper over the past five-plus years, I'm very pleased and honored to continue providing an alternative source of news to greater Daytona Beach and Orlando through the power of the internet.Not everyone is a fan of our brand of reporting, especially the politicians and their insider friends because they don't want you to know about the way they use government to line their own pockets.
But the numerous journalism awards Headline Surfer® has received in the past three years in the statewide Florida Press Club contests for 15 stories, three blogs and top internet news site (with social media) and the continued increases in daily visitors and page views are testaments that drive us to continue to succeed.
What we need to start focusing more on now is building up the advertising so that as a small business owner we can continue to provide for our family and to continue with upgrades to the site.

At far left, the luck of the Irish is demonstrated on Main Street in Daytona Beach where bikers taking part in Bike Week celebrate St. Patrick's Day as well. Green also is the color of a get=up for a child participating in the annual Halloween Parade in New Smyrna Beach.
