DELTONA, Fla. -- The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a 17-year-old Deltona girl with a medical condition who ran away on Friday, an agency spokesman said.

"This isn’t the first time that Brandy Sweat has run away," Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidon told HeadlineSurfer.com, adding, "She’s considered endangered because Brandy is insulin-dependent and has ended up in the hospital in the past when she failed to take her medication as directed."

The Deltona teen was dropped off at Deltona High School on Friday morning, but failed to return home after school, Davidson said

"A check at the school indicates that (Sweat) didn’t go to her classes and was subsequently reported missing to the Sheriff’s Office shortly before 4 p.m. and deputies have been looking for her ever since," Davidon added.

In the past, Sweat has run away to be with her boyfriend, 19-year-old Jacob Reagan, Davidson said. The boyfriend drives a gray, 2005 4-door Honda with a Florida tag, ECAW02.

The last time Brandy Sweat ran away, she ended up in Daytona Beach. She’s 5 feet 2 and weighs about 150 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone who sees Brandy Sweat or has information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 386-943-8276.
