DELTONA. Fla. -- The way local Democratic Party insider Ellen Watkins Juliano sees it, everyone needs to take a chill pill with the social media rants of gloom and doom as America readies for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Right from the opening line, the 2016 Headline Surfer.com Hall of Fame entrant doesn't pull any punches in her disdain for conservative Republican ranting and the usual anti-Obama bashing: "Read five posts today of folks basically telling everyone else to go eff themselves. Have heard nothing but bad news since Friday night."
Juliano, a hard-chore Democrat, is not in the mood for the levity she sees on Facebook and asks friend and foe alike to recognize the extended holiday weekend for what it is intended -- giving and being thankful.
"I am hoping this next Full Moon takes us back where we need to be and to the place of Thanksgiving by Thursday," said Juliano, who is among the 100-plus entrants from Central Florida and beyond to be inducted next year into the inaugural HeadlineSurfer.com Hall of Fame.
"All this fear and hatred will only give us more to fear and hate. The same goes for both major political parties," Juliano said, saying she sees it among some Democrats, too. "Get serious about being thankful people, so we will have more to be thankful about."

Even the writer of this Party Lines political notebook item on Ellen Watkins Juliano is guilty as charged as shown above with a Facebook posting that demonstrates beating the war drums on the eve of Thanksgiving. This writer is an NPA (no political affiliation registered to vote in Sanford, FL) who is conservative and adamant that the US maintain and even build on its strength as the world's super power. But more liberal on issues such as government subsidies like food stamps, child-care vouchers & health care for America's working poor, based on income. In fact, this writer was a registered Democrat as far back as 1980, through 2013, before switching to NPA and likely to switch anew to GOP.
