64. Kister Kayat manufacturing facility sold for $2M

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Ocean Properties & Management, Inc. recently sold the former Kister Kayat manufacturing facility located on U.S. 1, adjacent to Boston Whaler in Edgewater.

The 40,000 square-foot manufacturing facility will now be known as CartTech. The 10.7-acre property sold for $2 million and Scott Schlensker had the listing.

CartTech is owned by Pierre Lafleur, former CEO of Technibilt CariAll, a North Carolina company that is one of the top shopping cart manufacturers in the nation.

Laflueur’s new company will overhaul and resell old shopping carts.

With the cost of plastic and steel on the rise, buying refurbished carts will not only save our environment it can save businesses money as well. As of right now, CartTech employs 19 residents and turning out 200 carts per day.

Lafleur’s plan is to eventually have three shifts that would employ 60 people turning out 240 carts a shift.

CartTEch is using the main manufacturing facility and has available office space featuring attractive glass offices, cafeteria, bathrooms, reception area and executive suites.

Office suites are available for rent starting from $150 amonth, up to $400 a month, including utilities.
