EDGEWATER -- An 8-year-old girl who accidentally ran her scooter into the path of a car from her Florida Shores home Sunday afternoon was fighting for her life at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach after being flown there by the Sheriff's Air 1 helicopter, Edgewater authorities said.
The name of the girl was not released in the 4:30 p.m. accident in the 2300 block of Silver Palm Drive.
She was riding a Razor kick scooter when she veered into the road from the incline driveway and was struck by a car heading south.
