Adult son of State Rep. Dave Hood found dead in neighbor's pool in Ormond Beach in apparent drowning

ORMOND BEACH -- The 26-year-old son of State Rep. David Hood was found dead in a neighbor's pool in Ormond Beach, the apparent victim of a drowning, according to statements from the family and police.

The body of Clay Hood was discovered this morning in a neighbor's pool, according to police.

“Our family is grieving over the unexpected loss of our son Clay. We are completely devastated by this news and are searching for answers about his death,” Dave Hood said in a prepared statement released Thursday afternoon. “We ask for privacy and your prayers at this time. We are working on his funeral arrangements and will provide details when they are available.”
