DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.-- Katheryn Csonka, an assistant professor of nursing at Daytona State College has been named a leader among America’s Best Nurses for 2017 by the American Health Council.
The honor is awarded to nurse educators and professionals who have exhibited exemplary conduct in their field.
“We are proud of Katheryn and believe this is a well-deserved recognition,” said Dr. Linda Miles, associate vice president of DSC’s College of Health and Public Services. “The award not only affirms her dedication to quality instruction and student success, it is a reflection of the School of Nursing’s commitment to continuous improvement and academic excellence."
With 20-plus years of experience in nursing, Csonka joined DSC in 2015. In addition to teaching full-time at DSC, she also is an adjunct nursing professor at Kaplan University and a visiting professor at the Chamberlain College of Nursing, Jacksonville. Csonka holds an Associate's degree in nursing from Cuyahoga Community College, a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and is working toward her Doctorate in Nursing from Capella University.
Csonka is affiliated with Sigma Theta Tau, Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses; the American Association of Colleges of Nursing; the Historical Nurses Association; and the American Nurses Association.
