NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Good riddance to those wind-chill days and nights. Good riddance to the rare sleet, otherwise known as freezing rain.
It's warming up again with weekend temperatures topping out at about 70 degrees. We'll take it.
Though it was rainy during the earlier part of the weekend, temperatures climbed by at least 20 degrees during the day and twice as much during the overnights.
Here is the extended weather forecast for greater New Smyrna Beach from the the National Weather Service in Melbourne:
Temperatures are expected to reach 67 degrees today with partly cloudy skies with overnight lows at 45.
Tuesday will bring mostly sunny skiers with temperatures climbing to 70 degrees and overnight temps at 47.
Wednesday will see even warmer weather with temperatures 72 and partly cloudy conditions with overnight at 59 degrees.
Thursday will be the warmest of the week at 77 degrees and a 40% chance of thunderstorms, followed by 54 degrees.
Friday's daytime temperatures will fall to 67 degrees with partly cloudy skies and dropping to 47 overnight.
