
DELAND -- The a beauty shop near DeLand was robbed of beauty supplies late Friday afternoon by two women, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.
The robbery at Isis Beauty Supply & Accessories on East New York Avenue was called in to the
Sheriff's Office at 5:31 p.m.
"A worker first spotted the suspects, two black women, looking at hair pieces and suspected they might be shoplifting," Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson said. "After the worker confronted the two, one of the suspects walked towards the exit. But the other headed to the cash register, announced that she had a gun and asked for money."
The employee complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of money. Both robbers left the store with
approximately $150 in beauty supplies. No gun was seen and no one was injured during the robbery.
The pair was last seen driving off in a white, 1980s model Buick or Cadillac.
