DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Meet Ashley Darcel, a former Daytona Beach resident now living in Hernando County, who flew to the nation's capital to take part in a Black Lives Matter rally.
Darcel, 35, whose career is focused on writing, public relations and social media was among among the thousands in Washinton DCparticipating in a BLM rally stemming from horrific police brutality on display two weeks ago in Minneapolis that had a cop with his knee pressed into the neck of a handcuffed George Floyd on his belly crying out multiple times, "I Can't Breathe" leading to his agonizing death.
It was the murder of George Floyd from which has propelled the Black Lives Matter movement to new heights in drawing attention to longstanding systemic racism throughout the nation.
Darcel was boarding a flight for her return to the Sunshine State. Headline Surfer will speak with her later this evening about her participation in the BLM rally and where she sees things going from here.
