On Nov. 4 2008, the citizens of the United States went to the polls in one of the biggest turnouts in our history to elect a president.
Congratulations to President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden. I have to say that he would have done better with Hillary, but in the ninth inning she struck out.
Obama has inspired the people with his speeches, people listened and responded. Obama has the charisma of our beloved 35th president, JFK, who we will be honoring on Nov. 22, the 45th anniversary of his Assassination in 1963.
Obama becomes the 44th president of the United States.
My hope is the changes he has pledged will be for a better America. One thing I see is the unification of the blacks and whites. Could this be the dream of Martin Luther King Jr. realized? the beginning of a New Deal?
Obama talked about changing America and the world. You have taken your first step on a long journey, America, and the world is waiting for Obama to bring about the promised changes. I wish our new president good health, the courage and the wisdom to make the right decisions. May the Lord watch over Barack Obama and God bless America.
