ORLANDO, Fla. -- Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings has tested positive for COVID-19.
The county announced this morning that Demings tested positive and was at home self-quarantining.
Demings is fully vaccinated and received his booster shot, officials were quick to point out, adding Demings is "experiencing mild symptoms."
Demings will be working from home the rest of the week and follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention protocols for returning to the office when it is safe to do so, officials said.

According to the county, Demings tested positive Tuesday. His wife, Congresswoman Val Demings, D-Orlando, has tested negative for COVID-19, these same county officials said.
