ORLANDO, Fla. -- Since April 29, Florida has reported 32,981 cases of COVID-19 to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in which time the agency said almost 60 percent of Americans had been infected with the virus since its arrival in the US.
Days after that report, the World Health Organization would publish estimates claiming nearly 15 million deaths were associated with COVID in the last two years — mainly of those living in Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Americas — over twice as high as the current, official death toll of 6 million, according to a news report from WKMG Ch. 6 Orlando.
