Funeral service for Charlene "Helen" Hall, age 79, of Oak Hill, who died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at her home, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8 at Settle-Wilder Chapel, New Smyrna Beach. Calling hours will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 7 at the funeral home.
Born in Lafferty, Arkansas, Ms. Hall moved to this area 46 years ago from Wichita, Kansas. Great at story-telling, she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, gardening, walking, nature trails, quilting, cooking, and canning. Ms. Hall loved Florida and believed in woman's rights.
Survivors include her life partner, Harold Hall; 1 son, John Clifton Gaylord; 2 daughters, Donna Hackett, R.N. and Rita Nailglicco; 6 grandchildren, Terry and Mitch Law, Donnie Straughan, Matthew Glicco, and Kailei and Colton Gaylord; 5 great grandchildren; a very large extended family, including step-children and step-grandchildren.
Being a nature lover, flowers are welcomed, or memorial donations may be made in Ms. Hall's name to Salvation Army, P.O. Box 860, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32170.
