As another Christmas comes to us in New Smyrna Beach, the residents here have a lot to be joyous about. We live in one of the best cities in the best nation on earth.
Contrary to the words of the doom and gloom media, things have never been better and the future has never been any brighter or more exciting than they are right now. Compared to a decade ago we are healthier, more prosperous and have more opportunities to improve ourselves as well as the rest of the world, even with the downturn in the economy.
We can rest assured that we are healthier because our expected life span is getting longer. Our ability to find cures for previously incurable diseases in increasing year by year.
We have more resources to work with because the human mind keeps finding better ways to extract the resources we are presently using while discovering and inventing uses for things that were previously of no economic value.
All of the things we use are getting better and cheaper. For example, the amount of electronics you can buy for a given price doubles every 18 months.
Ten years from now, many Americans will be making a living in lines of work, which do not yet exist.
It is totally feasible for any young American to become financially independent if he or she really wants to. Saving and investing over a long period of time works every time it is tried.
On a global scale, things are getting better for all the world’s people. We have found out how to grow enough food for everyone. The starvation that you read about is almost entirely created by bad government policies. Africa is a case in point where Marxist governments have created poverty and starvation in countries which should be thriving.
All over the industrialized world countries have discovered how to make their economies thrive through application of intelligent economic policies.
Of course we have problems and evil people to deal with, but there are no problems that Americans can’t fix when we put our minds to it.
Americans will eventually solve the problems of Social Security, medical costs, weak schools inflation and all the others that face us. We will no doubt have to have another change in political leadership to do it, but it will happen.
The world’s evil will be faced down by American strength and will.
Keep in mind that there will always be problems and evil to deal with. But man was designed to deal with these things and without problems and evil to deal with life would become unbearably dull.
If you insist on being pessimistic about New Smyrna Beach, America and the world go read it in the main media, but you won’t find it here.
