Jeff Johnson, AARP 's state operating director, who sat up front with Kosmas during the meeting sponsored by his organization, stressed AARP is non-partisan when it comes to politics, but recognizes the needs of its membership. With that in mind, her personally thanked the first-term congresswoman for her talk, saying in part, "Thank you for your vote for a more comprehensive approach to health care."

New Smyrna Beach resident Ray Boyd thanked Kosmas for "bringing in some change."
