Granger handed off to running back Stephen Jackson for a first-half score and scored himself on a second half goal-line plunge, but scoring opportunities were few and far between.
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- With a goal-line run for a score by running back Stephen Jackson, The 'Cudas were only down a touchdown at halftime to Seabreeze at home Friday ight, but the visiting team broke things wide open in the second half en route to an over-powering 33-14 win.
The 'Cudas were able to score again on a goal-line keeper by quarterback A.J. Granger, but costly turnovers and a stifling Seabreeze defense were too much for the 'Cudas who fell to 1-1 on the season.
Things won't get any easier next week when the 'Cudas play Deltona, an even bigger powerhouse than Seabreeze. 'Cudas Coach Rocky Yocam was matter of fact in his assessment of the team's overall play: "It was a tough loss. We had some key turnovers. We had some breakdowns defensively. We need to work better overall as a team."
