Daytona Beach Mayor Derrick attends NAACP banquet

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla -- Mayor Derrick Henry and his wife, Stephanie, were among the dignitaries for Saturday's Volusia County-Daytona Beach NAACP Freedom Fund and Awards Banquet.

"I had had a great time with my date and My best friend," Henry said of his wife and the evening event they attended.

The gala event was held at the Hilton Beachside Resort with several hundred attendees and featured legendary soul and gospel singer Shirley Murdock.

The guest speaker was Barbara Arnwine, the president and executive director of the National Lawyers Committee on Civil Rights Under Law.
