ORMOND BEACH, Fla. -- A dolphin that washed ashore Thursday is being cared for by SeaWorld in Orlando, beach officials said.
Ormond Beach resident John Meade was among the first beach-goers to come across the dolphin earlier in the day "tumbling and tossing with the surf."

Meade and several others stayed with the sea mammal until members of the Volusia County Marine Mammal Stranding Team arrived and were working into the early evening hours to stabilize the dolphin while waiting for SeaWorld's personnel to arrive and transport it to its rehabilitative facility in Orlando.
