Jonathan R. Novenski Jr., of Edgewater, a student at Daytona State College, who enjoyed surfing and was known to family and friends as "Jonny," will be remembered at a service Tuesday, a week after he died unexpectedly.
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Visiting for family and friends of Jonathan R. Novenski, Jr. "Jonny", 18, of Edgewater, who died unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, will be held from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009, with a celebration of his life at 6 p.m. at the Baldwin Brothers Cremation Society, 1 N. Causeway, New Smyrna Beach.
Jonny was born March 21, 1991, in Chandler, AZ. He graduated from Gulf Coast Academy and attended Daytona State College. Jonny loved surfing, the beach, and hanging out with his friends.
He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and those that knew him will fondly remember his infectious smile and kind heart.
Jonny is survived by his devoted father and best friend, Jon Novenski of Edgewater; two sisters, Cindi Novenski of Daytona Beach and Alyssa Novenski of Mesa, Arizona; brother, Joshua VanHoose of Colorado Springs, CO; aunt, Kimberly Jacono, great-aunts, Cheryl Stewart and Margaret Lincoln, loving cousins, and numerous friends.

Editor's Note: The body of Jonathan Novenski Jr., was found in a ditch near his family's home just hours after he was dropped off after attending a party, according to Edgewater police who are continuing their investigation.
