Forecast for greater Daytona Beach: Rain today and colder temps by Tuesday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla -- There is a 90 percent chance of rain by noon today and a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms between noon and 3 p.m., then a slight chance of showers by late afternoon, according to the latest forecast for greater Daytona Beach from the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

Some of the storms could produce gusty winds with at 25 mph with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible with winds gusting to 25 mph. Today's high is expected to be 77 degrees.

For tonight, there's a 20 percent chance of showers before 1 a.m. Night skies will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 51 with West winds around 10 mph.

Monday's weather calls for partly sunny skies with a high near 60, with west, northwest winds around 10 mph. Monday Night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 42, with west, northwest winds around 10 mph.

Tuesday will see a drop in daytime temps to near 58, with west-northwest winds of 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Tuesday Night will be mostly clear, with a low around 43, with a north-northwest wind of 5 to 10 mph.

Temperatures on Wednesday will climb back up to near 65 with a northwest wind of 5 mph and mostly sunny skies.
