Dear Friends,
As Governor, I continue my efforts to promote Florida as a premiere travel destination. We are very fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful places on the earth.
Each year, millions of people from around the world choose to spend their hard earned money and precious time here with us in Florida. Those visitors support jobs for more than one million Floridians.
In fact, we know that 85 visitors to the Sunshine State supports one Florida job. So I’m asking all Floridians to reach out and “Share a Little Sunshine” with your friends and family. Through an exciting and interactive campaign, you can send an attractive postcard or video to family and friends, inviting them to visit our great state. Just go to [http://www.sharealittlesunshine.org/] www.ShareALittleSunshine.org and follow the very simple instructions. One of the many exciting attractions we have to offer right now is Baseball’s Spring Training Season. The presence of baseball in Florida is one of the great aspects to the quality of life here in the Sunshine State. Today’s fans are getting a close look at their heroes – Derek Jeter, Ryan Howard, Evan Longoria, Hanley Ramirez, Chipper Jones and so many others. Our Minor League clubs also provide family entertainment throughout the summer.
Baseball is a great family-friendly sport and an important part of our culture, as well as our economy. The industry brings in $750 million dollars each year and about 9,000 full and part-time jobs in Florida.
I am committed to continuing Florida’s legacy as a premier destination for baseball and professional sports. So, I challenge each of you to “Share a Little Sunshine” and help strengthen our economy.
Thank you.
